I'm a sucker for birthdays!
Really, besides the whole, "I'm getting older and can't keep up with my gray hairs anymore." thing, birthdays are fantastic! A great excuse to dress up, have a cocktail and in the words of Spongebob "Party til we're purple!"
So to add to the fun I've decided to start a birthday club! Here's how it works; on the month of your birthday I'll send you a little present. It may be a gift card to my shop, an item from my shop or a coupon for a big discount! You'll never know what you are going to get until it arrives so it will be fun to open your mail!
All you have to do is sign up for my new monthly newsletter!
I'll be sending out an email once a month with a report on sale information, upcoming events and previews on new merchandise! You'll be the first to know about upcoming deals plus get a free birthday gift! Sounds great, right?!
To sign up send your name, address, email address you want it sent to and your bday month to me at ~
bailybellecreations [at] gmail [dot] com
Let me know if you have any questions and feel free to pass this info on to your friends :) Thanks everyone! I look forward to sending your birthday gifts!
Today, while sitting in my studio frustrated that the lighting was too horrible to take new product photos, my three year old came to visit me. Not only was he dressed up like a dinosaur but he was carrying a little package from the mail man. I love getting mail and when I found out what it was I was thrilled!
Recently, I won a blog giveaway by Anastasia Christou on her blog Drawing and Dreaming. She has a fabulous Etsy shop and I am so excited to show you what she sent me!
Aren't these items adorable! I'm totally in love with her work. Make sure you check out her blog and her shop in the links above.
Ah! I'm so excited to tell you guys this and at the same time I'm so nervous I could squeal!
Hmmm what could it be.
Many of you have tweeted me that I'm probably pregnant again....um no. Although the actual "trying to get pregnant" thing is fun, I think my body would explode if I tried to carry another baby!
Some of you are probably thinking I am getting published in a magazine....well nope...try again (although that would be super fantastic and I hope it happens some day!)
Maybe...I'm getting my own brick and morter shop?! Oh crud, not true either. So, what's all the fuss about? Well.......
I was recently contacted by a local TV station, WQOW TV 18 to be exact & they want to run a short feature on....that's right you guessed it...ME! I am going to be a part of their "How do they make that stuff" Fall series!
They are coming to film me doing what I do best next week and I'm so nervous...like I said before, I could squeal! Anyway, stay tuned on the airing date. I just couldn't hold this in any longer!!
I recently was given the opportunity to work for a lovely lady named Pata. She owns a shop here in Eau Claire called Southern Exposure Silver where she sells her gorgeous handmade jewelry and beautiful pieces she brings in from Mexico. I spend my Wednesdays and Fridays at her store selling her jewelry and helping her with her Etsy shop. Her jewelry is exotic, rustic and very unique.
She is having a giveaway on her blog and I encourage all of you to check it out. Follow her for future sales, giveaways and news! You won't be disappointed :)
This is an amazingly exciting time for me here at BailyBelle Creations! I finally have my own studio! I can dance around, make jewelry and sew to my hearts content without driving my husband crazy! It's fabulous! When we first started off the walls were in pretty bad shape and the floor was beyond terrible. With lots of hard work I can finally not only use my space but I can share it with you!
The goal for my studio was to have a workable yet shopper friendly environment for appointment only shopping! I don't have an actual store yet so this is a huge concern for me. The fixtures are all up as you will see in the photos and the jewelry will be displayed as soon as I can get it all unpacked! So exciting!
Without further ado, here is my studio!
Where I sit and create my jewelry and chat with my special Twitter pals!
Shopable jewelry area!
My sewing area with handbags waiting to be purchased! Eventually I will have a clutch display in this area.
My drawing board beneath my window (empty right now) and some toys for the kids when they visit me :) Also a shopable jewelry section.
One of my favorite things about my studio is this peek a boo window!! It opens to look into the living room so I can still talk to my family while I'm working. I love visits like this one from my little boy! So cute!
Thanks everyone for letting me share this with you! I would love any comments you have on my space.
After some consideration about the way my shops were set up I decided to combine my jewelry and handbags! Why, you may be asking? Or maybe you are thinking, why didn't she do this a long time ago!
I thought initially that having the two shops would look cleaner. However, I neglected to realize that by keeping things separate I was not only losing sales but my jewelry customers had no idea that I made handbags! So before the holiday shopping commences I decided to combine the shops to make things easier. Now you can find all of my clutches, handbags and jewelry in one spot! My vintage will remain separate only because it is doing just fine on its own.
In honor of this transition I've decided to have a GIVEAWAY!
One lucky winner will win $20 to use towards anything in my
It's August and I always know that fall is coming because my mother's Hibiscus starts to bloom. It's a beautiful magenta color and it makes me smile when I see it so I thought I'd share it with you. Enjoy!
Ah, fall is in the air!
Well it's still hot as heck and muggy here but my fingers are crossed for cooler temperatures soon. I love the summer! Don't get me wrong. It's just that my favorite jeans miss me and well...I miss them!
Anyway, I thought I'd share with you the hot colors list for fall 2010.
Thanks to Pantone.com(which I just discovered and am now totally in love with!) finding this seasons color trends was easy and fast! Keep in mind the color swatches here were made by me so they may not be exact to the colors shown on Pantone.com

Many of you do not know that I once had a strong passion for poetry. It is my secret world that not many have entered. I am opening the door tonight...anyone who'd like to enter may do so. Here I lay myself...naked for you to see. It takes a lot to open this door so be gentle my lovelies...
a poem by Vanessa Hotchkiss
The waves crashed upon her body with the force of an angry man
She laid there lifeless wondering what would happen if she were to drown
A sense of nothingness filled her and then she remembered...
It was one of beauty
She could feel herself begin to turn away from the water and into the sand
Her arms and legs felt weighted and stiff
Was there any point to this struggle? Would it ever end?
She closed her eyes and tried hard to see him once more
It was so kind
As the waves continued to crash upon her she wished to be near him
Wanted so badly to reach out and feel his warmth, protecting her
To hear his voice, comforting her
It was so rugged
She opened her mouth to scream for him but instead inhaled the sea
You know how sometimes when you "meet" someone and you just think..."wow, they are fabulous! They must be my friend!" lol Well that's how I felt about Ashli from FactoryGirlAshli the first time we met on twitter. Thank goodness for the internet! She's an amazing gal with a passion for life and a fabulous sense of humor! Ah, she cracks me up! She works hard on her two shops, her two blogs and hard for the Curation Nation Team!
Anyway, I am honored to have her as my latest featured Etsian! And guess what...She's going to give one lucky winner $20 towards any purchase in her shop!! Yup you heard me! So let's get to the juicy details....
1. What got you started on your path to Etsy?
I was always a crafty kid (thanks to my mom), but I found Etsy through my boyfriend (now husband). I shopped a lot on Etsy for our wedding. After we got married, I started a very part time cake decorating job and needed something else to do on the side. So I started an Etsy shop in August 2009!
2. How long have you been creating your pieces?
I've been making jewelry since kid age, but didn't get seriously into it until the summer of 2009. I've been making cards for much longer.
3. Do you like pudding?
I love pudding. Especially tapioca and cookies and cream.
4. What inspires you the most when creating or supply shopping?
I am really inspired by nostalgia and nature. I try to embrace an old fashioned, romantic yet whimsical approach to each of my pieces. I love antiqued brass and giving new life to forgotten vintage pieces.
5. Do you remember your first sale? What was it? How do you feel about it now?
I do remember my first sale! My husband was at work, I was just about to go to bed.... and then the email came in. I squealed with such delight! It was a bird nest necklace. The photography was terrible. I was lucky a friend of mine took pity on me for that sale, because it would never have been bought by someone random on Etsy! I still feel excited about that sale, and I feel the exact same way whenever I get a big order, a local sale, or a sale to a friend or family member.
6. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years, I see myself a momma doing Etsy full time. I can't imagine how much Etsy will have evolved in that time. I'm looking forward to it!
7. Do you really want a creepy doll for your birthday? (Long back story to this but it's still funny!)
I do not, by any means, want a creepy doll for my birthday. Dolls creep me out and then some. I used to have Victorian porcelain doll wallpaper in my room as a kid. Not my choice, and I'm not sure what my mother was thinking (I'm sure she doesn't know what she was thinking anymore either.)
8. What's your favorite item in your shop? Why?
I really like this Aquamarine Romance Locket Necklace I have one and wear it often. I always get compliments! It's fun wearing things you make and when people ask about it, you get to say "thankkkks! I made it...." and then smile sheepishly.
9. Do you have a favorite artist?
Andy Warhol is my favorite artist (hence my shop name). I just loved how eye catching his art was, and then when I began to read about his life I just fell in love. His philosophy about life was so refreshing, and his statements about beauty and art are so intriguing. He was obsessed with fame but also liked to paint typically boring and normal things. He was also a very avid collector. Just a fascinating, fascinating man.
