Featured Etsian....Pottery 123

Oh how I love good pottery! This amazing Etsy seller offers a wide range of products from bowls, mugs and platters to rings, pendants and wire wrapped necklaces! It's all so beautiful and hard to resist.

Jo Ann Stevens is a wonderful artist and has been making pottery for over 20 years . Her inspiration comes from nature, anything with texture and the unknown. She is always wondering, "What if?". You can find her pieces in two different Etsy shops.

1. Pottery123: offers dinnerware, serving/dips/plates, garden, baking dishes, home/garden decor, urns and vases, mugs and jewelry (just to name a few!)

2. Pottery123findings: offers just that...lots of
amazing jewelry findings

Each of her pieces requires a lot of time and energy and you can see that in her work! I recently purchased a pendant from her findings shop to make a necklace as a Christmas present, and was so happy with what I received. (see photo to left)! The glazing is gorgeous!

When I asked her how long it takes to make each piece she had this to say..."LOL, I am still working on a piece that has been in my head for 12 years. I have read that it takes 7 years or 7 tons of clay to become a potter, and that sounds about right to me."

Jo Ann used to have a B&M shop inside an old historical fire hall where she would teach classes and sell pottery on the main floor. 3 years ago she sold the building and is now showing pieces in her backyard. Before she purchased the fire hall she traveled and did major shows.

When I asked her if she had a favorite piece she said, "The current ones I am working on or the ones still in my head are always my favorite. I am proud of the work I have done and pleased with what I have been able to achieve with my glazes." I'm sure we all agree that the glazes are amazing!

I have had the pleasure of getting to know Jo Ann a bit through Twitter and Facebook. She is a passionate turtle lover and very straight forward, which I love! She has been listing on Etsy for about 6 months and is re-inventing herself as a jewelry maker. I can't wait to see what else she comes up with!

Make sure you visit her shops on Etsy and while your at it check out her favorite shop MaddieBee123

Until next time stay warm ever one!
