love my sponsors - dainty daisies

Hello, hello my lovely followers! It's time to show off another one of my awesome blog sponsors. If you love handmade and vintage you are going to fall for Michelle of Dainty Daisies!

I was lucky enough to have met her last summer at the Madison Craftacular put on by the Glitterworkshop and we haven't stopped talking since. She's even selling my goodies at her brick and mortar shop! Last weekend I had stopped by her booth and finally got to check out her handmade skirts....to die for people!! They are so adorable and I can't wait to be able to own one!

Take it away, Michelle...

"Hello everyone! I create handmade goodness.. one of a kind wrap skirts & unique hair accessories. I am always looking for new ways to use up my fabric scraps left over from the skirts I have made. I make everything from fabric button accessories to little hair bows & one of a kind headbands, once in awhile I will sew up some purses out of my vintage polyester fabric collection. I never use patterns, all of my designs are my own. I am also a Mama to 2 kids & 2 dogs. I currently live in Oshkosh Wi. where I own & operate a small boutique that I have open 3 days a week. I started dainty daisies over 10 yrs ago as a hobby. I feel so lucky to be able to do what I love every day & most of all be able to create things that make people smile! It is the BEST job in the world! Thank you Vanessa for featuring me on your blog. I love having your jewelry at my shop!!"

adventures in madison

Capital Building

Madison, WI has such a wonderful vibe. It's so full of life and a great place for artists. My mom and I arrived Saturday afternoon and quickly headed to Paisans for some yummy food and atmosphere. There was a great view of the lake and the weather was so lovely! Ok, it was super hot and muggy but I love it! haha

The view outside Paisans
After our super delicious meal we headed for a stroll down State St and a quick visit to the University. My mother went to school there for a few semesters so it was fun to hear about her days as a student. We stumbled upon an outdoor concert on the lake which brought me back to my Key West days! Sail boats in the distance, people laughing and bustling about and music to bring it all together. I could have stayed there all night but there were more adventures to be discovered.

We walked and sweated our way through shops and crowds, eventually finding our way back to our car. I was dreaming of crafting and having a glass of wine when I noticed smoke coming out of the back of our car and a strong burning rubber smell!!! AHHHH! Our thoughts turned quickly to visions of the car exploding. Only to realize that we had left the parking break on and had been driving while it was scraping and burning!!! Holy wow!

Soon, back at the hotel we opened a bottle of Pinot Noir and I began crafting a few more leather earrings to sell at the Craftacular show!

Early Sunday morning we headed to the East Side Club for the 7th annual summer craftacular! The day was warm and I was so excited to meet a few of the Etsy peeps I've been talking to via twitter. I should have taken some photos that day but it was a busy time and I was having too much fun chatting. Sally and Mike from NightOwlCraftWorks are just too amazing for words. They were so welcoming and I felt as if I had known them for years. Make sure you check out their Etsy site and buy some of their pottery because it's beyond beautiful!! << NightOwlCraftWorks >> My mother brought home one of their mugs and I swear she's used it everyday since!!

I'm home now and I have new items to list and new ideas are flowing!
Thanks everyone who attended the show!

summer magic

One of my favorite things about summer is being able to do more things outside. Tonight I had the opportunity to do a local show at The Living Room Coffee House with live music by Anna Johnson. The day was super hot and muggy and during set up I thought I'd die from gnat infestation but as the evening progressed they calmed down. I enjoyed a lovely iced coffee and chatted with my neighboring vendors as we waited for the music to start.

The music was wonderful and after having a quick chance to speak with Anna after the show, I have to say,  she's adorable and such a sweetheart! She even bought a pair of earrings from me Woo Hoo! Noah (my oldest child) and I absolutely love her song..."Someday" and I was so excited she showed her video for that song tonight. Great job Anna and crew!!

All in all it was a wonderful evening and I met some really great people! A huge thank you to Michelle at the Living Room for inviting me and thanks so much everyone for coming out, I look forward to doing more shows like this in the future. XOXO
